The house of the Tragic Poet (also called The Homeric House or The House of the Iliad) is a typical Roman dwelling from the 2nd century BC. C. located in Pompeii, Italy. This domus is famous for its refined mosaic floors and for its frescoes, which describe scenes from Greek mythology.

It is a typical Roman domus, the name is given by the mosaic that was found inside, which is Hellenistic style. The supporting elements are the walls and the supported the roofs of the house, which had two floors all there is that the second floor has not been preserved.

 

Corresponds to the typical Roman domus: they were very closed houses, without windows to preserve privacy and shelter from thieves. The light came through the two inner courtyards.
